Raghu Thakur is a veteran Indian socialist leader, political thinker, and the founding president of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP). Deeply rooted in the principles of social justice, secularism, and democratic socialism, he has spent decades advocating for the rights of the marginalized and voicing the concerns of rural and working-class communities.

Born in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, Raghu Thakur began his political journey inspired by the legacy of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, a prominent socialist thinker and leader. Over the years, he became actively involved in movements for land reform, education, and anti-corruption, building a reputation for honesty, clarity of thought, and unwavering commitment to Gandhian and Lohiaite ideologies.

Raghu Thakur has been a persistent critic of communal politics and the concentration of power and wealth in the hands of a few. Through his columns, speeches, and public activism, he has continuously emphasized the need for people-centric governance, strengthening democratic institutions, and reviving ethical politics in India.

Under his leadership, the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party aims to present a credible alternative to traditional political parties by promoting clean politics, transparency, and policies that uplift the backward and underprivileged sections of society. Thakur’s vision is to build an egalitarian India where opportunities are not limited by caste, class, or region.
